Tyco Flow Maintenance at Olympic Dam
Capability Statement
Through our maintenance company 'Meyer's Engineering Services' Tyco Flow Control has an existing facility at site.
We currently provide an infrastructure to service, repair and rebuild pumps, valves, cylinders and rollers.
ODO site equipment
Our facility comprises 600m2 of covered machine shop:
- JMFT lathe with 600mm diameter swing and 1.8mtr bed.
- A larger lathe with 1000mm swing and 5mtr bed.
- Radial drill
- Geared head drill
- Universal grinding machine
- Cabinet mounted grit blaster
- Hydraulic tester for cylinders
- Valve regrind and lapping equipment
- General bench tools and equipment
- Transmig welder
- Oxy-acetylene equipment
- Separate welding area
Outside yard area is 1500m2 surrounded by a security fence. Within the area are 2 further storage modules.
Immediate developments
- We are currently setting up a mechanical seal reconditioning capability in conjunction with Utex of USA.
- Installation of test equipment to enable full function testing of repaired seals up to 150mm diameter.
- Training of our head office and our site people on SAP.
Future developments
- Full safety relief test bench equipment, which will round out our capability to repair both valves and pumps.
Additional capabilities for repair and testing of 'Slurry Gate and Globe Valves'
- Tyco Flow Maintenance's 'Hard Facing Alloys' division, is a company with a long history in re- manufacturing and refurbishing gate, globe and bayonet valves used in the mining industry.
